Cowboy-Bebop and Prince

I have just heard word on the net that cowboy-bebop and Prince of Persia are both heading to the big screen, worried? You should be,
In my experience Anime and game cross over’s rarely work on the big screen, okay you have some exceptions but on average it doesn’t work.

Prince of Persia will be the biggest flop I predict they will make the prince a witty American action hero and take away any realism that they could portray in the character, okay I know the prince in his new game is portrayed this way but luckily for the game the amazing visuals hold it in high stead and we are not to fussed about a realistic character, however if done correctly it could be something special if they really took the time to create a realistic prince that is, I have seen some stills and trailers and it looks more like the later I’m afraid.

Cowboy-Bebop if you don’t know is a classic Anime series and one of my all time favorites, I’m not surprised this is heading to the big screen the concept was always bigger then Anime in my opinion and once again if handled correctly could be great, rumor has it Keanu Reeves will portray the main protagonist Spike Spiegel

but don’t let that put you off Reeves is a good choice for the character as he has a very relaxed and subdued personality with sly witty comments that Reeves should be able to handle, in terms of story they couldn’t go to wrong if they just adapt the original Bebop animated film to live-action the story was well constructed with plenty going on and nun of the confusion you can get from Anime films and stories.

So over all I am looking forward to seeing Cowboy-bebop on the big screen but not looking forward to them potently murdering Prince of Persia.
